  • Why does CIBC FirstCaribbean have a new name and look?

    1. The heart of our new look is our purpose – to help make your ambitions a reality. Your ambitions mean the world to us. In fact, helping you achieve your goals is why we exist. We’re committed to living this purpose every day at CIBC; listening to what’s important to you so we can make it important to us. Through our renewed commitment to you, we’re getting back to who we’ve always been.

  • What does the new logo represent?

    1. Our new logo is a fresh take on the first CIBC logo, which was created in 1966 to celebrate our 100-year anniversary. We took the iconic chevrons from our original logo and connected them together, creating a portal to your goals. This symbolizes how we’re here to help make your ambitions real.

  • How will this change affect my day-to-day banking? Will I still be able to use my current bank card, credit cards and cheques? And when will I get a new card reflecting the new look?

    1. While our look is new, you’ll still enjoy the same great service you’re used to from us. You can keep using your bank card, cheques, credit cards and more as you normally would. If your card expires or you need to replace it soon, you might get a card that looks like your old one. That’s okay! The new look will show up on your banking products over time.

  • I noticed my Mobile App icon has changed. Is an updated Mobile App available?

    1. Yes, we have updated versions of our online banking and mobile apps  reflecting our new look. Here’s a summary of when our app updates will be complete:

  • Do I need to change my CIBC FirstCaribbean passwords for online and mobile applications?

    1. It’s not mandatory to change your password due to the updates, however changing your password on a regular basis is a good way to keep your account secure.

  • I’ve noticed that not all materials have been updated with the new look. Why didn’t the bank make all these updates at once?

    1. We’re rolling out our updates on a phased basis, and prioritizing the materials our clients see the most often. For that reason, sometimes our clients will see a combination of old and new branding.

  • I just received an email that says it is from CIBC Caribbean, but it looks different than emails I’ve received before. How do I know it’s not fraudulent?

    1. Our emails may have a new look but our commitment to keeping you and your banking information safe hasn’t changed. Emails from us will always address you by name and we will never send you a text or email that’s unsolicited asking for your banking information, personal information or any passwords.
